Thinking about taking the rear roll cage off my 2022 1000 5-seater for easier access to the bed during ranch work, but i'd want to put it back on for mountain trails with my buddies. From what i've read, older models just need about 10 bolts to remove, but i'm not sure how tricky or heavy it is to reinstall. I'd also need two tops, a Bimini for when the cage is on and a 3seater hardtop for when its off.

That's a bit of a job but doable! The 1000-5 uses the same setup as the earlier models, so it's a dozen bolts or so holding the rear section on. And yes, the main challenge is the weight and awkward shape of the section, so it's definitely a two-person job for both removal and, more importantly, for lining it back up during reinstallation! Dealing with two different tops can be a hassle, but I know a few who find that a foldable soft top is a great solution, as it can be used with the full cage and then folded back when the rear section is removed, saving you from buying and swapping out two different tops.

Yeah, the rear cage is a breeze to remove, so that part is on point. About the top, any specific reason why you want to go with two tops? Maybe find one that can serve like a dual purpose or something like that? Not sure if it's doable, just trying to help you out in terms of cost and storage.
