I got my Pioneer 500 last month and am learning as I go. My girlfriend's beagle rides shotgun but the lower seat opening makes her slide around a bit. Do aftermarket seat backs help with that kind of thing or should I just go custom?

Try looking at aftermarket seat backs. Some offer more padding and a higher rise that keeps passengers even the furry ones from sliding. But if you don't mind a little DIY, a simple custom foam insert wrapped in durable fabric might do the trick too.

Thanks for the useful information on both options. I wasn't sure if aftermarket seats would solve the sliding issue. The custom foam insert idea's very interesting as I'm pretty handy with projects. Do you have any suggestions on the type of foam to use that would be firm enough and hold up to outdoor use? I'll start looking into materials this week.
